Through her stories and songs, Ginger shows you (at least!) forty ways to flaunt all that you are for all the world to see—because now is no time to hide! And the lovefest grows only more lovely when a blast from Ginger’s past comes to visit. (Who will it be?...)

This evening of cabaret coincides with the Northern Spark art festival, happening in neighborhoods along Metro Transit’s Green Line starting at sunset. Conveniently, the Town House is also located along the Green Line. Start off your night of magic with this evening of heart-opening music.

The Sleeping Beauty in the Wood

Mistress Ginger plays the title role in this adult adaptation of the classic fairy tale.

Presented by collective unconscious performance

World Premiere
Directed and Designed by David Hanzal
Written by Katharine Sherman
Choreographed by Justin Leaf

Cursed at birth by an evil fairy, Beauty is destined to prick her finger and sleep for 100 years at the age of 16. But what were the dreams that Sleeping Beauty had before she woke up? Through her active dream-life, Beauty's fairy tale past is unspun from the deeply familiar and woven anew, as she experiences love, loss, and the possibility of a waking life. The Sleeping Beauty in the Wood is a new, ensemble-created performance work that integrates puppets, masks, movement, and music to evoke Beauty's dark, sensual, and subversive world of dreams.
